Pet Gal Round Rock

team member

My name is Amy Gautreaux and I have lived nearly all my life in Central Texas. My family and I have had a total of eight rescue dogs over the last several years, so I have a background with my own pets as well as helping friends family with their pets.

I have a lifetime of experience with pets including those with special needs. I have had a blind dog and a diabetic dog, and have nursed more than one through major surgeries. Right now my family includes a grumpy, fluffy mutt named Lambert with bad knees and a Rhodesian Ridgeback named Duke. Training is also important to me, and I have lots of experience using only positive methods, even with dogs who have behavior issues.

I have also done lots of volunteer work with all kinds of organizations, including Austin Pets Alive and Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter. I love nothing more than contributing to animals’ health and happiness.

I recently left a desk job and I have always hoped to work with animals someday, so becoming a Pet Gal is a huge blessing. I have been married for almost 20 years. I have one son who’s almost out of the nest, and I am almost finished with my own degree from Texas Tech University. I am thrilled about this new chapter of my life, loving on animals, getting to know their parents, and enjoying lots of fresh air and exercise at the same time. I can’t wait to meet your furry, scaly, and feathered babies and to care for them as my own.
