Pet Gal - North Austin

team member

Hi, I’m Elyssa! I was born in St. Louis, raised in central Texas, and recently found myself back in Austin after five years living in Seattle. I’m a scientist, a musician, a dog, and cat mom, and most recently – a Pet Gal.

I’ve felt a strong sense of appreciation and responsibility for nature and wildlife since I was a child, and since then, I’ve been looking for practical ways to give back to the nonhuman animal world. I believe one of these ways is by helping improve interspecies relationships, which is why I’m so excited to have joined the Pet Gal team.

I’ve never been without at least one pet, and I’ve cared for dogs, donkeys, cats, chickens, birds, rabbits, rats, and more! As there are fewer capable homes than animals in need of one, I feel obligated to support the individuals who offer love and comfort to these deserving creatures. For me, ensuring the health and safety of pets is a labor of love – your pet’s well-being will always be my top priority.

My childhood aspirations of being a wildlife biologist may not have been realized, but by becoming a Pet Gal, I’ve found an even better way to contribute to the welfare of pets and owners alike!
