If you were to ask the people closest to me in my life about my one defining characteristic, their first answer would be my love and empathy for animals. I was raised on my grandmother’s farm, where I was privileged enough to care for animals of all types, and I have been lucky enough to have been surrounded by furry companions every day of my life so far.
My love for animals reaches into all corners of my life, especially my diet-I’ve been a vegetarian for over 10 years, and have loved every minute of it! I have lived in Austin for about 4 years, and was immediately impressed by how the city embraces pets and their parents, in fact I don’t think I’ve ever been somewhere so animal friendly, which makes living here an absolute pleasure! Every day, I get to come home to the 3 loves of my life, my 2 cats Judy (Garland) and Elphaba, and their hamster brother Franklin.
I spent a few years exploring different animal related professions, and have experience working in an animal hospital, kennels, and even freelance pet sitting, so needless to say, I am ecstatic at the opportunity to join the Pet Gal family, and continue living the dream! I travel a lot, and need pet sitters of my own, so I understand first-hand the expectations that come with the job, and the anxiety a pet parent feels when they’re away. I am unbelievably excited for the privilege of relieving that stress, and providing love and care that exceeds all expectations!
