Pet Gal Central Austin

Hello pet parent pals! My name is Kati and I love all the animals! I’m originally from Chicago and moved to Austin in 2015 when a lifetime of winters got to be a little too much. I was sad to say goodbye to my awesome local rescue, One Tail at a Time, but I’ve truly fallen in love with the animal scene here, from The Pet Gal (!) to Central Texas Pig Rescue to Red Bud Isle to the awesome vet clinics to K9 Workingmind’s unmatched behaviorists to my dogs’ favorite home-away-from-home, The Chuckling Hound…I could go on; it’s a special place!

Anyway- my background is in design research and marketing/advertising, but I’m rebooting my life in Fall 2018 to spend more time doing what I love most: caring for animals (The Pet Gal!) and caring for people (esthetics school!). In my free time, I like to read, ride road and mountain bikes, and hang with my partner Brendan and our brood o’ beasts.

I fell into the Chicago rescue world after adopting my ride-or-die dog, Rosie, via One Tail, and have been volunteering and fostering ever since. Between Rosie, a foster fail named Flapjack, and all the pups in-between, I’ve worked with a variety of medical and behavioral needs ranging from subcutaneous fluid administration to reactivity to allergy shots. I love doing whatever’s in my power to accurately HEAR animals and respond appropriately- medical, behavioral, or otherwise. We also have a senior cat, Stink, who we adopted as a kitten, so I’m well-versed in the trials and tribulations of the feline world too.

I so look forward to meeting your pets, and whole-heartedly believe in The Pet Gal’s mission of phenomenal pet care and client communication so that you never have to worry while you’re away. I’m am a firm believer in instilling client confidence via meet and greets, clear communication, fun photos and notes, and exceptional care. And maybe a few new nicknames for the animals along the way 😉 Thanks for reading!
